Climb Oz is located in Western Sydney, Australia. It was started in May 2012 by Halil Ngah (Founder of Climb Asia) together with Chew Wei Chieh (more affectionately known as Chew).
Halil moved to Australia in 2011 and took over an indoor rock climbing gym, Climb Oz, to start a new legacy in Australia after having rocked the waves in the Singapore’s climbing scene. With his vast wealth of experience in the industry since 2002, and with help from the Climb Asia Projects crew (Hazlee and Shafiee), Climb Oz rapidly transformed into a modern facility under his charge.
Chew, formally the Course Coordinator of Climb Asia and a climbing coach with Acrobatics, is frequently seen in bouldering competitions hanging on the sides of the wall snapping away with his Canon camera capturing athletes’ bursts of power in action. He moved to Australia in 2012 and naturally teamed up with Halil to run Climb Oz.
Climb Oz is planning to offer climbing packages to Singaporean climbers who want a taste of rock climbing in The Blue Mountains. Just an hour away from Sydney, The Blue Mountains is a World Heritage site and one of the top 10 most popular sport climbing destinations in the world. Accommodation, transportation, and locations of the best climbing routes will be covered. Mountaineering and canyoneering trips are available for the more adventurous too!
